The first video is absolutely perfect for creating tension. It uses loud screeching noises that slowly escalates by getting louder, and louder, and louder. Moreover, its a convention of the horror genre as this kind of music is used frequently in the genre, and especially in teaser trailers where very little is given away.
The next video is another piece of music that I will be using. Unlike the first video that will be towards the end of the trailer this music will be played primarily at the beginning. I like this music because the sound of the piano is slow but also poignant as well as the fact that it will set the tone of the trailer from the beginning. Also hopefully it will help to add a kind of Gothic feel to the trailer.
Here are some other music that are still under consideration.
The music in this video to the first music sample . The reason why we haven't definitely chosen to be in our trailer is because it would be hard to edit down (and time consuming) and also because it contains a lot of random noises and I thought that this would be too distracting. However because one of the key scenes in our trailer takes place in a park this song is still under consideration.
I like the song because it combines elements of the 2 songs we have already chosen to use. It uses both a piano and has a loud screeching noise in the background. I will possible try to experiment with this song and see whether its works better.
